We are kicking off the new year with our Annual Winter Chapter Meeting!
Please join us for chapter updates, 2021 officer installations, a reflection on 2020, and an educational session on "Managing Customer Expectations," presented by Liz Coalts.
Managing Customer Expectations
“Why is it going to take so long?”
“I want it and I want it now!”
“Why can’t I just buy from the vendor I used last time?”
As government procurement professionals, you may have heard these statements before from your customers. As the experts, you understand the required steps (and reasons behind those steps) in the procurement process, but your customers might not. Setting and managing the expectations of your customers can help alleviate stress from everyone involved. Learn some tips on communicating with your customers to help them prepare for the procurement process and the steps and timelines involved.

Liz Coalts, MBA
Liz Coalts has worked in State Government since 2005 and is a self-proclaimed contract nerd (her colleagues would agree!). Liz recently relocated to North Carolina where she is working for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as an IT Vendor Management Consultant. She spent the previous 15 years working for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and always had her hand in an RFP: as a project manager overseeing the procurement and implementation of IT systems, as the Procurement Director, and as a Vendor Manager of the Agency’s modernization effort. She loves streamlining procurement processes and teaching others to love (or at least not hate) RFPs. “RFPs are FUN!" Liz is a native of Albany, NY and recently moved to Raleigh, NC with her husband and two kids.
Please register for this Chapter Meeting by February 10 at 5:00 p.m. A final agenda and Zoom link will be provided as the event gets closer. Questions? Please e-mail IPPA President, Alyssa Ellingon, [email protected].
We hope to see you on the Zoom meeting!
